In the engine room all facilities to pool are situated - sand filter, pump, heaters, pumps, electrical panels, etc. It must be convenient to perform both ongoing operations - filters backwashes, supplies changes, and also serious repairs and activities. For this purpose, the engine room has to fullfill certain requirements for size, height, light, dry, bathroom, and others who are also subject to your pool project. Its optimal position is to be to the short side of the pool, with a joint wall and into a lower elevation than the bottom of the pool.

If filtering is on-board / filter is hanged on the pool edge/, and there are no extras to the pool, machine room is not necessary.
