Finish sauna

A Traditional Scandinavian sauna with wooden finishes throughout including wooden benches. The heating is provided by a hidden r heater behind the benches or an open stove with volcanic stones. The humidity of the sauna can be enhanced by splashing small amounts of water across the hot stones by hand or by one of our automated humidity and fragrance systems.

Temperature Range: 85 – 100C
Wellbeing Experience: Dry heat with slight humidity and fragrance for muscle relaxation

Aroma sauna

Aroma saunas typically have individual seating arranged around an open stove covered in volcanic stone. The rooms are often finished in hand crafted ceramic tiles, glass mosaics or natural stone. The humidity is increased via a hand crafted caldarium bowl over the open stove and volcanic stones filled with water and natural herbs such as Lavender flowers to infuse the room with natural healing aromas.

Herbal sauna

Herbal saunas like aroma saunas typically have individual seating arranged around an open stove covered in volcanic stone. The rooms are aromatic timbers such as Cedar and Kelo wood. The humidity is increased via a hand crafted caldarium bowl over the open stove and volcanic stones filled with water and natural herbs such as Lavender flowers to infuse the room with natural healing aromas.

Russian sauna

Banya saunas are finished in heavy timbers or natural stone walls with wooden open benches. These are intense heat rooms heated via a banya cast iron stove covered in volcanic stones or traditionally with river bed boulders. The intense heat is amplified with lots of humidity by water splashed over the cast iron stove & stones.

Authentic Banya saunas bathing included whips made from oak or birth twigs being gently beaten across the back of the legs. Bathers will sometimes wear natural woollen hats and mittens to protect form the scorching heat as steam is produced on the stove.
