Tepidarium

The tepidarium is also a wellness room from Roman times. It is characterized by:

· Central place in the Roman baths;

· Temperature close to that of the human body - about 37 ° C, and humidity about 30%;

· Spacious, often with a pool in the middle;

· Heating by hypocaust (hollow floor and built-in pipes for hot air in the walls);

· Warm benches and armchairs lined with marble or ceramic.

The atmosphere is complemented by dim lighting, pleasant music, aromas, salt lamps, water effects. Apart from relaxation and preparation before the more difficult procedures, the tepidarium was and continues to be a favorite place for meetings and confidential conversations.

Staying in it has a good effect on general health, tones and relaxes the body. It is much easier to tolerate due to the lower temperature.

Although the tepidarium is a typical part of the Roman bath, designers are increasingly tempted to give it an oriental or modernist style.
